Kendall Jackson was founded in 1982 by Jess Jackson. He purchased an 80-acre pear and walnut orchard and planted his first Chardonnay grapes in Lake County. A family business, he set out to make a high-quality and affordable wine. In 1992, Kendall-Jackson's Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay becomes the #1 selling Chardonnay in America. From there, the family purchased more land and expanded their portfolio, growing more premium European grapes with the same philosophy.This wine comes from Monterey County in California's Central Coast. Although not as famous as Napa or Sonoma County, the wines from this region stand on its own. Monterey County is known for its cool climate viticultural areas, with warm days and cool nights. Crisp, clean and perfectly ripe fruits generally characterize the wines coming from this region. Pair this wine with an Anjou pear salad, grilled shrimp or Thai food. Try it also for a dinner party with some cheese, like an aged Gouda, or a Parmigiano Reggiano.
